Clear vision - body psychotherapy and coaching

“Can we both exist together?…”
Discover the Bodyknot as a useful help
A two-day workshop with Erik Jarlnaes and Lidy Evertsen
Do you recognise in yourself or in the people you work with how difficult it can be to do what is good for you? Messages in our minds tend to tell us that the interests of others are more important than ours. And we often value their interests based on historic experiences. Sometimes, unfortunately, we get involved with people who recognise this in us and consciously or unconsciously make use of our habit to give priority to other people.
In this workshop for professionals who work with supporting other people, the theme is how to honour your needs, impulses and what you want. We also shed a light on how you or others might manipulate you: we discover what the dynamics are, how to pull the pin out of the bomb, so to speak, and how you can deepen the contact with yourself and with the other by doing that.
We work with a model called the Bodyknot, with exercises in pairs and groups, with role-playing, with awareness of what is happening in the body and what that means, and with touch.
With this workshop, we aim for those in the helping, teaching and medical professions who would like to work on this theme with their clients, students or supervisees. You might also recognise this as a theme of your own. If so, this workshop can offer you a safe environment in which to explore this issue.
The workshop is offered in both English and Dutch.
Erik Jarlnaes: I am one of the founders of Bodynamic International, and I was a trainer there from 1982-2017. I am the founder of Life Quality and Peak Experience Institute, 2017- present, a member of EABP since 1990 and also Lidy´s colleague since 2002. I am the author of “50 Exercises for Vitality, Resilience, and Psychological Health”
My expertise lies in deepening awareness of body sensations through utilising “just the right” psychomotor exercise to develop embodied resources. These are fundamental to healthy relationships and excellent communication skills.
Lidy Evertsen: I have been a Body Psychotherapy practitioner in my own practice since 1993.
My Body Psychotherapy modalities are Unitive Psychotherapy, Bodynamic Analysis and Bodynamic Trauma Therapy. My work is also informed by Polyvagal theory.
I am specialised in working with dissociation, dissociative phenomena and DID. I am a trauma therapist, a trainer, a supervisor and a therapist for Body Psychotherapy students and practitioners. I was the EABP president from 2010-2016 and am still active in the development of the profession of Body Psychotherapy in the EABP Think Tank and Continuous Congress Content Committee. I started my professional life as a classical singer and voice pedagogue.
